What is the relationship between everyday movements and their urban environment? How can theatrical activities reflect and influence the public sphere of the city? The Festival play! LEIPZIG invites you to (re)discover known and unknown places in Leipzig, to get inspired by an artistic practice in urban space and to experiment with your own perception of the public sphere. Walks, audio-guided tours, and site-specific performances will stage various places of political and cultural interest in unconventional ways by movement and choreography. Closely related to this event an international conference will discuss current developments and theoretical aspects of dance, movement, public sphere and interventionist practice.
